April 23, 2012

Waking up for us was not a challenge because most of us did not even go to sleep due to excitement. We got to SFO at 4:30 in the morning to catch a 6:15 flight to LAX. At that time, lack of sleep was beginning to hit us.

When we arrived at LAX, we spent the four hours in between flights davening shacharit, sleeping, and enjoying the reality of going on a trip that we are never going to forget. The flight was never ending, but since we were with all of our friends it was a blast. We landed in Tel Aviv at 2:30 pm and picked up our bags before meeting up with our tour guides; Tehila, Koby and Ori. We then exchanged our money and boarded our tour bus.

We drove an hour and a half to the Caesarea aqueducts (the town Caesarea being named after Caesar Augustus) to experience the beauty of the beach and learn about our guides and our trip basics.  After enjoying the sunny warm beach we headed a couple miles north to the Nir Etzion guest house for the evening. We enjoyed a delicious meal (it was AMAZING!!!) and headed back to our room to settle in. We can already tell this is going to be a life changing trip, and we are excited to see all that the Land of Israel has to offer.
