We begin the day reliving the
period just before Israeli Independence at the Atlit Clandestine Immigration
Camp. We’ll see the new a/v
presentation on a real ship which helps to tell the story of the Aliyah Bet
which brought thousands of Jewish refugees to Eretz Yisrael.
We’ll continue to the mystical
city of Zefat to explore the synagogues and artist colony. “Shtender” Program with local artist Noah
Greenberg.
Travel to the southern Golan
Heights to the dati yishuv of Hispin.
Check-in and dinner.
Evening: Join the yishuv for tekes.

Longing for Zion
Travel south along the Jordan
River Valley. En route to Jerusalem,
meet Ethiopian families who crossed the desert to Sudan to wait for months in
refugee camps before being airlifted to Israel by the Mossad.
“Jerusalem Prepares for
Shabbat” activity at the Machaneh Yehuda fruit & vegetable market.
Check-in and prepare for
Shabbat.
Candle lighting at 18:41.

followed by festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

David. Walk through Hezekiah’s water
tunnel, built 2700 years ago to protect Jerusalem’s water supply from
invading armies.
Participate hands-on in a
unique rescue dig, sifting through remains from the Temple Mount.
Jewish Quarter Scavenger Hunt
and cash lunch.
Kotel Letters Activity and
private time at the Kotel.
Learn more about the role of
pilgrimage and the centrality of the Temple in ancient times at the Southern
Wall Excavation or Kotel Tunnels

Set off for the Dead Sea
Region.
Hike to the Nahal David
waterfall at Ein Gedi. Float in the
Dead Sea.
Continue to the Negev. Camel riding and Bedouin “hafla” dinner at
Chan Hashayarot.
Set up camp at Divshon.
Evening: Star gazing. Ponder why the Torah was given
in the desert.

|
Making the Desert Bloom
Dawn hike at Nahal Havarin. After
breakfast discuss David Ben Gurion’s vision for making the desert bloom at
his grave which overlooks Nahal Zin.
Volunteer hands-on with Leket,
picking left over fruits and vegetables to be donated to local soup kitchens.
Mifgash with moshav youth at
Moshav Beit Gamliel (with BBQ?)
Continue to Tel Aviv for
check-in and dinner.

Biblical Nature Reserve. Hands-on
activities, goat herding, and tree planting ceremony.
Sculpture in the dark workshop
and time to explore Old Jaffa.
Summary discussion and
farewell dinner at Kapiche Cafe.
Transfer to airport for
departing flight.
